Cheap Gatorade

Summer is here, and that means it's time to start drinking Gatorade! Back when I started this blog, I thought it would be fun to track the price of individual bottles of Gatorade, since I'd noticed how much the price varied in different locations. But I was such a low-tech kind of gal that I took a jpeg of a NYC map and started marking Gatorade prices on it by hand. Well, that was not geeky enough for Caitlin, who very kindly set this up for me: Gatorade Wikimap

And you thought it was only useful for gasoline! Anyway, I've been sitting on this for way too long, so now I am sharing it with you to celebrate the first day of summer. I believe this should allow all my readers and Gatorade fans across the world to contribute price info by adding new "gatorade" tags to the map.
Check it out and start chugging that Gatorade!

do you really drink gatorade? i sometimes keep some around during hiking or for emergencies, but for regular use I find the Emergen-C packets a much better deal, and healthier since I can just add a packet or two to my water as necessary.

I don't really drink huge amounts of gatorade, but for some reason, ever since I was a kid I've just loved it! And on a hot summer day, sometimes it just hits the spot.

You can actually enjoy Gatorade on the cheap--the big box store near me sells it in powder form--for less than $10 you can buy enough to make many gallons.

Another way is to build your own Gatorade.

If you buy from costco,

The gatorade powder will cost you like 10 USD for 9 gallon.

it averages out (0.73 gallon/usd)
or
(94 oz/usd)

I wrote out the detailed calculation at
