It's almost that time of month...

I mean that other time of month, when I do my net worth and expense wrap up. Geez, what kind of blog do you think this is?

Anyway, as I check my month-to-date expenses, I keep groaning. I bought some clothes this month, and have also been eating out a lot, because of my friend's visit and because my apartment gets so hot in the summer it's sometimes unbearable to cook. So my expenses will be high this month, and the stock market hasn't been particularly kind to my investment accounts, so that part of the net worth picture won't be all that pretty either.

I also have to start dealing with my impending move, though the major stress of that is not knowing exactly when it's going to happen. It looks like I have to be out of my current place by Aug. 1-- but I don't have a closing date for the condo yet so I may have to store my stuff and stay with friends & family for a while, which is really not how I wanted my move to go.
The one good thing is that I work in an industry where it's always really easy to get packing boxes. I've been collecting used ones for a while, so I don't expect to have to spend much on packing supplies-- though if a lot of my clothes have to go into storage instead of straight from one apartment to another, that might change things. Usually the movers have wardrobe boxes that you can use that day, and I always use big green garbage bags for the rest. But if I'm storing my stuff, I want to pack it more securely. Ugh, I just want this all to be over with!

Coming out of lurking to say good luck with the move! I just moved this week, and it really did a number on my finances. I had completely left out of the equation the days of eating out for all 3 meals because everything in the kitchen was packed. And my move date fell on the week in between two pay periods, so I decimated my checking account with the first-last-deposit. Ouch.
