Reasons to Leave a Job

Today I was in the bathroom at my office and realized I have a serious problem. There is a lady who always seems to floss her teeth after lunch, right there at the sink in our not-that-large bathroom. It's great that she has such good dental hygiene but it really grosses me out to see other people flossing their teeth. To get to the toilet stall I have to walk way too close to her while she's doing it and I can hear that horrible flick flick sound and I shudder to think that I'll get hit by some flying piece of microscopic tooth junk. In the scale of traumas one might have to deal with in life, of course this is fairly insignificant, but when you think about the weird little annoyances that make you like or not like a job, and how the small issues can bother you more and more over time, I found myself wondering if one day, upon seeing this poor lady yanking away on her dental floss, I would just suddenly flip out, screaming "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE" and resign on the spot! Ok, it was kind of an idle fantasy-- it's much more likely that I will just start using a different bathroom at certain hours of the day. But we all have these fantasies, don't we? That we'll one day tell someone to take our job and shove it, or otherwise spectacularly detach ourselves from our main source of income.
Here are some of the top reasons to leave a job, according to salary.com. None of them involve dental floss.

I'm with you, good dental care is important, but in private. That is just icky!

I view people that cut their nails in their offices or other public places as the same thing - grosses me right out.

Girl- the Flossy the co-worker might fit under ctaegory #8 for leaving! What would you do if you could leave and do anything you wanted?

I'm with you. There are two regular nail-clippers in my office, which is a large open space. It's gross and disgusting. I'd LOVE it if they went in the bathroom. Some people also have done it (and picked zits, and on and on) next to me on the subway, but that's a whole 'nother story.

How weird that this was the topic today. I just decided today that I think its time for me to move on from my current situation but i'm worried that I won't be able to find something as good or better in my area. I just skimmed the article and will read it in detail later but I'm taking it as a sign. A sign to stay or go, IDK but a sign none the less.

I did quit my job last January, but it wasn't for any of those reasons and it was something my husband and I planned for a year. We both love it!

I left my last job for reasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9.

At the time I was the fifth person in about 2 months to leave (although my escape had been planned for months), and we all left for reasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9. This should have told management something, but didn't.

At another job, I worked with a real snob who literally talked through her nose. She sounded like a parody of a snob. She criticized everybody's everything. Jeans, for instance. People who wore jeans were low-class, in her humble opinion.

One thing we all learned about the snot, however, was that she never washed her hands after using the toilet. She'd go straight from stall to out the door.

Sometimes it's best not to know other people's personal hygiene habits. Ew.

Very early into my job I was a big ass keener. One night when I was staying late at the office and I went to the bathroom and walked in on two people getting it on. Not in a stall - out in the big wide open for me to see. Thank god I dont work with either of them. We share the floor with three other companies but I run into the woman on the elevator from time to time.

Anyway, I never stay late anymore. Nor am I a keener.

Public flossing really grosses me out. I also hate it when people throw used floss in a public trash can without wrapping it up somehow, but instead leaving it lying there on top, all chunky and gross-looking. Blech!
