I Won the Lottery!

I can't believe I'm writing this, but I actually hit a pretty big jackpot in the New York Lotto! The only problem was that the way I accomplished this was to buy a ticket for every possible number combination that could have been drawn. I haven't actually done the math yet, but I don't think I'll come out ahead... oh well!

How is a pretty big lotto if you won't come out ahead?? I'm confused.

By the way, if you ever do win a really big jackpot, you won't be able to tell us... It would compromise your anonymity... :-(

LOL! Had me going for a second.

I worked part-time at a horse race track when I was in college. When you actually sell those tickets, you really get to see firsthand that most people lose most of the time. Yeah, occasionally someone would come in off the street, buy a $2 win bet on a horse whose name he liked, and win $6.50. But that guy who just cashed in a winning trifecta ticket for $8000? He's been placing $2400 trifecta "boxes" (all combinations of 4 horses to win/place/show) for weeks.

And this is why I never gamble, except for fun/socially (e.g. nickel slots while visiting Vegas).

Ha...I never believe ANYTHING on April 1st.

Hey, I figured I'd come out of the woodwork and say I like reading your blog. I'm a student trying to budget, dig my way out of debt and someday, maybe even save something!

Check out my blog if you get a minute. I'd love any pointers, comments from you!
