It's so interesting the in the US, class is so often linked with income.

Zadie Smith, Dorothy Allison, Nick Hornsby, and my favorite, Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons all adress issues of class. In non-fiction, there's, Simon Doonan, David Sadaris, Paul Fussell and the quaint Sex and the Single Girl, by Helen Gurley BrownRachellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05616188385588061330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245531.post-1142363539087119032006-03-14T14:12:00.000-05:002006-03-14T14:12:00.000-05:00The one contemporary novel I always think of is Bo...The one contemporary novel I always think of is Bonfire of the Vanities, though even that is starting to be a little out of date. Your novels are 19th century, the ones I mentioned take place mainly in the 1st half of the 20th--for the life of me, I can't think of anything current. Maybe today's folks don't make for very interesting writing: "I bought a McMansion and two luxury SUVs, and now I'm in debt up to my eyeballs."SMBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08929907537266948108noreply@blogger.com
