The next day when things go back to normal I would go in early and stay late to make up. I am not too fond of being stuck on the subway for hours.Tired of being brokehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02026029030939029254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245531.post-79826807788633746092007-08-08T23:19:00.000-04:002007-08-08T23:19:00.000-04:00I managed to get a bus to work. It then took me over 2 hours as well creeping along on the LIRR........but yeah, I've never actually thought about all those people "behind the scenes" in NYC keeping things going. The storm also made me re-evaluate wanting to become a homeowner eventually in this area because of how quickly the flooding came. Now imagine if that was a hurricane!Random Ramblingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15784061731703091760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245531.post-14711127523418721082007-08-08T20:11:00.000-04:002007-08-08T20:11:00.000-04:00I really hope you sprung for the taxi. splurge now...I really hope you sprung for the taxi. splurge now and then my friend ;)Caitlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07099173870125319819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245531.post-6848593496973873072007-08-08T17:09:00.000-04:002007-08-08T17:09:00.000-04:00I barely made it, and I didn't even attempt to get...I barely made it, and I didn't even attempt to get in until after lunch. Last year we experienced a massive power failure through the city and we were still expected to remain at work, with no lights, no computers... ridiculous.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245531.post-13807000986532264322007-08-08T16:51:00.000-04:002007-08-08T16:51:00.000-04:00You are braver than I am. New Jersey Transit buses weren't running at all, so I headed home. There were no subways by that point, so I walked for 40 blocks and then managed to squeeze on a crowded bus for the rest of the trip.frugal zeitgeisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17804781758510341558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245531.post-48162767397774461922007-08-08T14:36:00.000-04:002007-08-08T14:36:00.000-04:00Goodness! I probably would have just stayed at home....maybe called in sick...SavingDivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10267021491907810696noreply@blogger.com
