A few words on links

I've just done some updates to my blogroll in the sidebar. I sometimes get requests for link exchanges-- I don't believe in link exchange per se, and I want the blogroll to reflect what I'm actually reading and recommending. However, sometimes these exchange requests have led me to start tracking newer blogs that I find interesting. The trouble is that there are so many blogs worth reading that I just don't have the time to follow them all. So I decided to change the blogroll a bit.
For the last few weeks, I've had it sorted by most recent activity. Today I added some new blogs to the list, as well as some stars by certain links. The stars are not meant to be a judgment of the quality of the blog, just an indicator of how often I read them. I do have some long-standing favorites, and I'm sure new blogs will become favorites too. Also, a few blogs that I used to read a lot don't have stars only because they don't seem to be posting as frequently anymore.
If you have requested a link in the past and I haven't put one up, feel free to email me again. A link back to my blog is appreciated but not required. I don't promise to link to every site that is requested, and if it seems to be largely for commercial purposes rather than a legitimate blog, I will decline. But otherwise, I'm happy to try to help other blogs get some exposure, and discover fun new things to read.

I see that I've made your link list also. Thank you. I'm not a fan of link exchanging either. I'd much rather "earn" a spot on fellow bloggers lists. I'm not in this game to generate ad revenue, but rather to share quality information and opinion.

Hey Madame X, thanks for the 2 stars!

I know what you mean about keeping up with them all. So many blogs, so many lifes to follow. So little time (in my case) to write for myself. I guess I did make the list though.

Bloglines is a lifesaver. I just can't keep up with all of the blogs, especially when my favorite bloggers write multiple posts in one day. I do try to click thru to your blog, just so you'll have an accurate count on your site meter.

I've started adding a few favourite blogs (including My Open Wallet) to the blogroll on my pf blog
http://enoughwealth.blogspot.com

I think using the stars for often read blogs is a great idea. If I end up with lots of blogs in my blogroll I may differentiate them this way - but at the moment I'm only including blogs that are active and I'm currently reading regularly.

hey Open Wallet, my name is David and I'm the writer for the financial blog: http://www.dailybanker.com. I've been reading your financial website for a while now and was wondering if you want to do a link exchange? My personal blog keep tracks of Certificate of deposit, savings account and money market rates. I also try to give commentary on what is the best investment for your money. It's my personal hobby that I do on my free time and I want to make some friends with other "financially" related blogs. Anyways let me know what you think.

Thanks

If you get around to it, you can examine my blog at http://www.thefinancecastle.com/

Perhaps this will lead to stars, perhaps not...only one way to find out!

Nice to discover your pf blog. It is amazing how many well read pf blogs are out there and I can see why your blogroll is getting full so fast - I am having the same challenge! Still, I hope you check out my blog and I'll be going through yours in detail this week (added to my RSS) and will include in my updated blogroll.
