One BookExpo Sighting...

I had almost forgotten that I did manage to snap some photos of one personal finance book at the show last weekend. Outside the actual show floor, in the convention center lobby, they always have something called the Combined Book Exhibit-- it's an easy way for small publishers to have their book shown without having to go through the hassle and expense of exhibiting at BookExpo themselves. So of course you find some rather bizarre items in that display!
Here's one of them:

Ok, so there's not anything all that bizarre about it so far: it's a perfectly good concept, one I wholeheartedly support, even if the cover is ugly! But some of the content inside was weird:

You might find it hard to read, so here is the translation:

Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.
Many people ALWAYS SPEND ALL of their money.

Why would they feel the need to repeat these sentences 20 times each? I guess someone must have told that author that kids love repetition of phrases in picture books but I'm not sure it's working here! I'm not even going to bother to try to link to it on Amazon!

Forget the money book. What was up with that spank me book??

FZ, I don't think it was anything kinky-- just some book about how you should discipline kids without spanking them!

Meh. In that case, it's boring. ;-)

I bet it was meant to be read aloud, so that by the end of the page the whole group of kids is repeating it.
