This year[2005], Americans will spend $9.8 billion on bottled water....Clean water could be provided to everyone on earth for an outlay of $1.7 billion a year beyond current spending on water projects.

After I'd done my thing, I came back to the front desk and asked the lady how much money she wanted, and she said a dollar. So I gave her a dollar and figured the relief was worth it.
